As a diving professional you need your own diving equipment , including diving computer , diving knife and at least two surface signaling devices . For the practical exercises, such as making an underwater map or searching and recovering, you need a compass, buoyancy device, marker buoys, lifting bags and underwater writing boards. Your PADI Instructor can suggest additional equipment that will be useful to you during your diving career.

Get advice from your local PADI diving center about what equipment you need as a diving professional.

One option is that you study the Divemaster Manual and watch the Divemaster video (book and DVD are available as a package). Visit your local PADI Dive Center or Resort to register for the course and take your Divemaster Crew-Pak with you, which includes other reference materials - such as the PADI Instructor Manual and The Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving - that you can use during your Course.

Consider participating in Dive Theory Online ( Dive Theory Online ), another PADI eLearning® program that guides you step by step through the areas of diving physics, diving physiology, diving skills, diving equipment and diving environment and also a repetition of the Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) includes.
