The PADI Scuba Diver course is a sub-program of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you don't have much time, but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver “Brevet” (PADI's diver's ID) might be the right thing for you - especially if you mainly want to dive with a dive guide. This course represents an intermediate step on the way to the PADI Open Water Diver certification, if this is your ultimate goal.

PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:

• Dive to a maximum depth of 12 meters / 40 feet only under the direct supervision of a PADI Diving Professional.

• Obtaining tank fillings, renting or buying diving equipment, and participating in diving activities as long as adequate "supervision" is in place.

• To continue your diving education later by completing the PADI Open Water Diver course as well as certain specific specialty courses.

 

 

You must be at least 10 years old to take the PADI Scuba Diver course (or PADI Junior Scuba Diver course). You must be able to swim adequately and be in good health. Prior diving experience is not necessary, but you can get a taste of diving in the Discover Scuba Diving program.

 

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three important parts:

• Theoretical part ( online , self-paced or in the classroom) to understand the basic principles of diving - only the first three of the five theoretical parts of the Open Water Diver course.

• Dives in confined water (ie in a swimming pool or in a restricted and protected area in open water) - only the first three of the five dives of the Open Water Diver course.

• Open water dives to practice your skills and explore the area - just two of the four dives on the Open Water Diver course.
