The Advanced Open Water will help you to improve your skills in various adventure dives and thus develop more confidence under water. Under the supervision of your PADI instructor, you will get some knowledge about various special areas of diving and gain more and more diving experience.

There are credit options! Every adventure dive can be counted as the first dive of the corresponding PADI special course . If you have already completed any PADI specialty course, ask your instructor if it will count as an adventure dive.

Who should take this course?

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old and willing to continue their diving training should register for an Advanced Open Diver course. Young divers ("Juniors") can only take part in certain adventure dives - inquire with your PADI instructor.

If you are already a PADI Adventure Diver , you only need to take two more adventure dives to get the Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

You plan your course with your instructor by choosing from a long list of different adventure dives. The course consists of five dives: Two dives are mandatory - deep diving and underwater navigation - you can choose the other three.
The deep dive adventure teaches you how to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper dives. During the adventure dive "Underwater Navigation" you will refine your navigation skills with the compass and learn to navigate better with landmarks.

The additional knowledge and skills that you will acquire expand your areas of interest and offer you new underwater adventures - underwater photo / video, buoyancy control, fish identification, wreck diving, and much more.
